We built the safety app we wished existed.
Why Safety App UK exists
Most personal-safety apps ask you to trust a black box: an unexplained “danger score” for a street, with no way to see where it came from. We wanted something you could actually check — a map built from real, sourced data, routing that explains itself, and an SOS system that is ready when you need it without being noisy the rest of the time.
What makes us different
Two rules have stayed fixed since day one. First, every marker on our map traces back to a specific, reported incident — official police data or a verified community report — never a guess based on who lives somewhere or what an area “looks like”. Second, we only use two data sources, both attributable and checkable, and we have deliberately chosen not to use local news or unverified social posts, which tend to amplify the same handful of incidents rather than add real information.
Who’s behind it
Safety App UK is built and operated by GG Straps Limited. We’re a small, independent team, which means every feature on the roadmap is something we thought was worth building, not something a large product committee signed off on.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data. We don’t rank neighbourhoods by demographics. We don’t pretend an app is a replacement for the emergency services — in a genuine emergency, always call 999 first. And we don’t hand down verdicts on whether a place is “safe” or not; we show you the data and the context, and let you draw your own conclusions.
