Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 5 September 2026

1. Who we are

Safety App UK is operated by GG Straps Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (“we”, “us”, “our”). These terms govern your use of the Safety App UK mobile application and this website. By downloading, installing or using the app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms.

2. What the service is — and what it is not

Safety App UK provides a live safety map built from official police data and verified community reports, safer-route suggestions, and SOS tools including automatic recording and live sharing with a trusted circle. It is a tool to help you make more informed everyday decisions.

Safety App UK is not a substitute for the emergency services. In an emergency, always call 999 (or the local emergency number for your country) first. Our SOS features are designed to alert people you trust, not the police or ambulance service, and we cannot guarantee message delivery, location accuracy, or response time in every situation, including poor signal, device or battery failure, or third-party network issues.

3. Your subscription

Safety App UK is offered on a subscription basis: currently free for the first 7 days, then £2.99 a month, cancel any time. Once the app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, your subscription will be billed and managed through that store’s own payment system, under that store’s own terms, not directly by us. You can view, change or cancel your subscription at any time from your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Safety App UK responsibly and lawfully. In particular, you agree not to:

  • submit a community report you know to be false, exaggerated, or intended to mislead other users;
  • use the app to harass, stalk, or monitor another person without their knowledge or consent;
  • attempt to use the SOS or recording features for any purpose other than your own genuine safety;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app, its data feeds, or its underlying infrastructure.

Every location on our map is flagged because of a specific, reported incident — never because of who lives in or spends time in an area. We do not allow areas to be marked, and reports must never describe, people based on race, nationality, immigration status, religion, or any other personal characteristic. We may remove reports, suspend accounts, or restrict access for anyone who breaches this.

5. Your data

How we collect, use, and protect your data — including recordings, location, and your trusted circle — is set out in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Details on requesting deletion of your account and data are on our Account & Data Deletion page.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Crime data, safer-route suggestions, and community reports are provided for general context and are not a guarantee of safety in any specific location. Official crime data reflects what has been reported and logged, not everything that has happened, and can lag behind real-world events by several weeks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GG Straps Limited excludes all liability for any loss or harm arising from your reliance on information shown in the app, from a missed or delayed SOS alert, or from the actions of other users, including anyone in your trusted circle.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature, a change in how billing works, or a change in law. If we make a material change, we will update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, and any dispute arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of the country where you live.
